VIDEO: Handmade Holiday 2015: Day 4 ~ Watercolor with Perfect Pearls + Paper Smooches

Good evening!  I hope you have all had a fabulous weekend!  I am a little bit in shock because we leave for DisneyWorld two weeks from today!  I've been counting down for this trip since February so it seems totally unreal that it's finally almost here!  BUT I did manage to get some quality time in my craft room this weekend to film two new videos to share with you, so yay!

For this project, I did a bit of experimenting.  This idea came to me as I was drifting off to sleep one night and I honestly wasn't sure if it was going to be a tremendous success or a complete disaster.  I think it fell somewhere in between, way closer to success than disaster!  I decided to take some of my Gold Perfect Pearls pigment powder and add it to a little bit of water to create my own shiny, shimmery watercolor paint for my background!  And it worked like a charm!

I combined with paint with an adorable holly berry image by Paper Smooches and some very simple Zig Clean Color Real Brush coloring for a striking and elegant holiday card with just a touch of whimsy.  I think the circular shape really adds something special as well.  The best tip I came away from the this project with is to add more Perfect Pearls for a more opaque finish and more water for a more transparent wash.  I can't wait to try this with other colors of Perfect Pearls!

The theme of the Paper Smooches November Challenge is GOLD so I decided to enter this project.  It is open all month long so go check it out!  For a full list of supplies and the full video tutorial, keep scrolling!  Thanks so much for stopping by and I'll see you soon with Day 5 of my Handmade Holiday series.  Bye!
