VIDEO: Handmade Holiday: Day 2 ~ Stretching Your Supplies with Lawn Fawn + Announcement!

Hi, all!  And welcome to Day 2 of my Handmade Holiday video series!  Today I am super excited to share with you that I will be a part of the TupeloDesignsLLC design team!! Starting in December I will be doing at least one project a week featuring some of the fantastic supplies from this online shop.  I love all of the support that the crafty community provides for one another and I'm so jazzed to be a part of this team!  So go check it out and do some shopping!

For today's card I have a really quick, clean and simple card that could be mass produced in no time flat!  AND it's a great example of how you can take the supplies that you have and make some minor tweaks to create a whole new look!  I wanted to make a strand of lights out of the Merry Christmas sentiment in the Winter Scripty Sayings stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  So I found a set that had an image of some holiday lights (Cozy Christmas by Lawn Fawn - I've been wanting this set FOREVER and could never find it in stock but I found it at TupeloDesignsLLC!!) and I used my scissors to carefully trim one bulb off of the end of the image.

I then used that single bulb to create my sentiment lights!  If I wanted to, I could mount the stamp back together on an acrylic block how it was originally intended or I can use the altered strand with one less bulb.  Either way, I got more use out of that one stamp than I would have otherwise!  I then used my Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pens to color in the bulbs for a non-traditional coloring medium that gave the lights beautiful sparkle!  To finish up, I rounded the corners, added some Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, distressed the edges, and applied glossy accents to the bulbs for that glass-like finish.

This card came together very quickly and turned out really fun and whimsical!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  I will be back shortly with Day 3 of my Handmade Holiday series.  The full video tutorial for this card is linked above and the products are linked below! See you soon! Bye!

  1. So sweet Tara! I love Sakura gel pens! I having been using them for YEARS for this reason. Aren't they the best for shimmer? LOL
